America Entertains

To understand Entertaining in America you have to understand the entire range of culinary delights, from sophisticated dining under Crystal Chandeliers, to the proper way to cook Barbecue. That means qualifying as a BBQ Judge, and learning the right way to grill, smoke and present the many barbecue styles that identify America. It can be messy, but how else do you learn, well enough to interview the experts.

Entertaining Afloat

The call of the open waters is sending more and more people afloat, to enjoy the Sea Breezes, both in the air and in a glass, as well as entertaining guests aboard their boat.

We have enjoyed entertaining afloat around the United States. The sunset in the Florida Keys is best seen from afloat, with fine wines, fine food, and unfortunately those damned Mosquitos. Still a couple of Sea Breezes and you forget all about them.

There is nothing tastier than a piece of fish, or shrimp that were swimming around the boat minutes ago.

And there is something about the entire experience that makes it so magical. Join us as we take you around the coast of America, and the Islands.

On the Road Again

Traveling around the highways and byways of America, off the beaten tourist tracks you find all sorts of interesting people, and entertainment.

In Cody, Wyoming we joined a Rodeo for the day, and learned about the dangers, excitement and entertainment enjoyed by Cattle Country people across the nation. The Rodeo Clown who only has a barrel between him and a charging Bull, and may be the only person to save the life of a Rodeo Cowboy thrown from his horse.

And in the evening a real Rodeo Dance and Barbecue. The charm of the Old West.

New Orleans Partytime

The atmosphere that only New Orleans can provide brings out the party lover in everyone that gets caught up in the moment. The copious quantities of beverages doesn't harm the party spirit either.

The people of New Orleans have embraced our visits with a hospitality rarely seen in modern times. They have cooked every imaginable Cajun and Creole dish for us, and introduced us to many local recipes, and ingredients to create an authentic New Orleans atmosphere for entertaining at home.

Disappearing Blue Crabs

The signature of the Chesapeake Bay is joining the Oyster and disappearing from the restaurants and picnic tables of the Eastern Shore.

Nothing says more about Coastal Living on the Chesapeake than crunching a pile of Crabs, and cracking them with a well aimed wooden mallet.

Sadly this year the numbers are way down, and the famed Crab Soups are more expensive than ever, and often filled with imported Crab. Get them while you can!

Restaurant Calls

We try and get round as many restaurants as physically possible whenever we are in the area. Most are proud to show us behind the scenes, and offer their insights of what America has to offer.

Alan Simpson has traveled to over 80 countries, interviewed thousands, tasted many new foods, dishes and sauces, and collected many ideas, products and insights.
